Listening to For You I Will (Confidence) by Teddy Geiger
Yes i admit it, i've fallen for the sappy poppy acoustics and vocals of teddy geiger. You ask, geiger whossat?!?! Not very important, i suspect a one-hit-wonder. And corny enough, i've taken a huge blow by that single hit. Its on REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT. Dont blame me okay, i havent been emo in a looong time. And dont remind me of my lousy teenish taste of this one song, i'm embarrassed enough, thank you.
Let me sum up the previous week. I painted my room (finally). Took two days, and by the end of it i was all peachy and my arms were tired as hell. But i'm proud of my work :) And now all i have to do is wait for my new cupboard, side table and bed frame and my awesome room will have successfully undergone its EXTREME MAKEOVER. I'm looking forward to the finality. To me, its kinda like a next stage thing: where i keep away all my stuffed animals, give away all my too-small or too-kiddy clothes, pack up all the little toys presents memories that i have been displaying (and collecting dust i might add), and attempt to ship-shape my room such that it appears more my age. Or rather, i'd prefer - that it appears more me.
On sunday, it was the 7 aside open tourny. By the end of the day i was pink. Now i'm just peeling. How gross, having dead skin hanging off your face. Plus, whenever you smile, there seems to be a thin film of crinkly wrinkly skin being overstretched, like clingwrap. Not a very pretty sight. Our punishment for forgetting the miracle wonders of sunscreen. Anyway the important thing is, that the tournament went well. We did alright, drawing all games and winning ntu 3-0 (not bad, considering it was a 12 min game). That game was fun, we really went all out for the attack - i felt the teamwork involved too, i think i played the best team game for that one. We went on to the semis - faced SCC (the old team) yes the one with the huge ladies who oh so love shoving and pushing. i got a HUGE shove in the shoulder by one large lady when the ball wasnt even a meter within our radius. Maddness. i piteh the fool who hath to marketh thee! Anyway i think we, as a relatively smaller, younger, less shoving-instincted-based, and a whole lot more prone to being thrown about with just a little nudge, we did well. It ended in a draw, and it went down to flicks. i really have to thank Nordin for giving me so many chances and allowing me to accumulate so much experience in taking flicks. Its given me this knowledge, that hey - its okay if it doesnt go in, but just follow through all that he taught us way back in sec 2, 3 and leave the rest to luck. And because of that, i dont get nervous, jittery, misflick, whatever. Its just routine - i dont even have to think anymore. Ah well. Flicks always can go eitherways. Well, this time it wasnt in our favour - we lost 2-1 in flicks. But nurul did such an amazing spectacular job, i was really impressed.
Everyone played hard, despite the searing weather, the impossibly short in-betweens of games, the incredible difficulty of facing opponents such as those oh-so experienced RECS girls... It was all worth waking up 7.30am for :)
