Listening to Dom Som Försvann by Kent
Poland Warsaw - Krakow - Czech Republic Prague - Cesky Krumlov - Austria Vienna
Poland

Czech Republic

Not much photos from Vienna because my mum broke her arm cycling in Cesky Krumlov. Horrible horrible story of a tiny town in the middle of nowhere left on our own in a place where no one understands english. Kinda killed my photography passion for the rest of the trip. i really cannot be bothered to tell the story here, if you see me you can ask if you wanna know.
Oh and we visited Auschwitz in Poland. Its weird when you're there. You stand on the very same spot where so many have come not too long ago, and you see what they saw for the last days of their lives. The barbed electic wires. The Wall of Death, where thousands were shot. The punishment cells. The gas chambers labelled "Bathroom". The The massive, massive field with its own railway stop inside the concentration camp where it catered to keeping up to hundreds of thousands of prisoners at any one time. Massive.
You know you read about it all the time in textbooks and history books. But the impact of being there, of seeing the vivid proof of the horror is insane. You can never imagine. The thing that stands out most for me is the room in which the human hair shaved off the corpses of those gassed where kept. (They were used to make mattresses, bed lining etc.) Its three times the size of my living room, and that high. Just full of human hair. And the shoes. The sheer amount and variety of shoes. There were red ladies shoes that any girl would have picked out at a store. Tiny shoes for children of all ages, infants also. Boy's shoes, men's shoes, for everyone of any age.
Lets just say it was a very emotional journey there.

Hairy Situation
Listening to Daughters by John Mayer
Got back from Malaysia a couple of days ago. i can describe it in three words: shop, eat, sleep. In that order. Got a hell lot of great clothes for cheap, so i doubt i'll be as excited for the GSS this year. Anyway the clothes on sale are usually very outdated with very few sizes.
Gonna get a haircut tomorrow. Hoping its going to turn out great, because it'll be the shortest i've ever had it, and i'm leaving for Eastern Europe on tuesday. i hope i can pull off the ultra-short cut!!! And the weathers incredibly hot these days and less hair helps.
