Tonight, we may have to sleep overnight on an uncomfortable bus (maybe with cockroaches? SHANNA! HAHA). BUT, tomorrow morning we'll have our toes in the sand, sun on our faces and our eyes will pop from all the beauty!

 See you after may day!

The src game i previously posted on, we lost 2 - 1! Good scoreline right??? And if i didnt screw up the shortcorner we may have made it a drawww...! Damn i really need to practise stopping to get my one-motion-stops perfect every time. i remember i used to do it like 20 times each training back in nj, and with boys pulling somemore (mother hiong and scary :s). But it helped alot. Now rusty lah.. And i feel very bad to the team cos of the poor stops.
Anyway the game was quite fierce. But we were very pumped throughout! Kept running and chasing after them and our younglings were not scared in the face of the national or older more experienced players! Very proud of them.
My dog is so cute. My dad's koi pond is leaking so he transferred the fish to this make-shift tank he put in the garden. Cos of the new surroundings the fish are slightly spooked, so last night one of them tried to jump out, and hit the cover made out of hard plastic. There was a loud "DOOK" sound and kiwi, who was happily nuahing... suddenly bolted up! She stared and stared into the night and kept glancing at us in the house, giving the "omgwhatwasthatplstellmeitsalright" look - super nervous and scared! So cute lah.

She doesnt like cameras so usually the best photos we get of her go something like this... :

I'm happy happy cos my sister just came back with the car. Which means i dont have to walk to delta later! i know i'm so damn lazy. But i dont like it when after the game and having showered and all, you're forced to brave the sweltering heat and the infested public buses and by the time you get home you need another shower all over again! Anw later playing src. I'm still quite full from lunch. Went to balestier with my daddy to have noodles.. the auntie recognised us! Even though we havent gone there in almost a year.
The first week of hols have been good. i managed to clean my car inside and out - its all spick and span! (Until it decides to rain again) But i'm very proud of my subaru.. He's my babyy.
The other day i was watching mtv and i saw this car, the Bugatti Veyron. This version is 008,
Bugatti is a french luxury car manufacturer. They are the manfacturers of the fastest, most powerful and most expensive (full production) street legal car in the world, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4. Its proven top speed is over 400km/hr.
The guy on mtv said that at top speed, the car can only last for less then 30 seconds before the rubber on the tyres burn out. To reach top speed, you need to use a second ingition key located on the floor of the car to access the full power of the engine.
Now, is that a car or what?!
But so what if my subaru cant even smell the exhaust of the Bugatti? i still love love love it.

To be cool in their books
Tuesday, April 10, 2007
Finally am at the half-way mark of my exam week. i need to remember to photocopy the textbook for my last paper on friday... Yes i havent read the text at all. Yes i do not even own the text. Anyway i really need to catch up on my reading! The last materials i've read are car magazines, girly magazines and a few interesting articles from economist. Oh, not forgetting my notes. Ayy the thing is that i usually get really tired after studying and all i wanna know is the latest SUV model from BMW or the latest Lexus 430 - which apparently doesnt perform that much better from its predecessors. Or i'd like to see pretty shoes and clothes, kinda like to stoke the fires of my urge to shop. A... little... while... more!
Anyway. This occured to me because during TWC class a few weeks ago, we were having a debate. The motion was "Technology has done more harm than good", and the first speaker for the proposition was arguing and then he mentioned some literary text. He went, "anyone know Ray Bradbury?" then he trailed off and i said under my breath "Fahrenheit..." "Yup, the book Fahrenheit 451. How about Brave New World?" "Aldous Huxley." "Yup again."
i was quite shocked. He looked quite pai kia, i would have never expected him to have read those titles! Its always a plesant surprise when you find out people have the same taste in literature as you do. So anyway after that debate - he's cool in my books. Figuratively speaking, of course haha. Oh and of course, this taught me to never judge a... Fuck lah thats too much, too lame already.

Headlines
Thursday, April 05, 2007
If you want to see the biggest joke today, turn to the main page of the Straits Times. i had a huge shock when i read it this morning at 6am! Even in my sleepy groggy state, the headlines still managed to get the blood in my brain going to bring me to think to myself, "Do they really think we are THAT stupid?!"
It says, "Put ministers' pay in perspective: MM" and just below that, there are the following two lines: Annual wage bill for ministers and all office holders: $46m Singapore's total economic output per year: $210b ..."the annual wage bill for ministers and all office holders is $46m - or just 0.022 percent of Singapore's total economic output."
Honestly now. Does anyone see the connection between those two figures?? Its completely irrelevant and utterly insane to actually tie a string between those two and say they are correlated! Its as if they are implying that the ministers are the ones that generated all that economic output. Alllll $210b of it. Uh huh, really? Suuureee.
Now THEY need to put it in perspective. Ministers are NOT the only ones that generated that figure. Please do not forget that Singapore is made up of another 4.5 million people who keep the economy going. And SPH please do not forget either, of the bad business decisions that our lovely government has made. Now its not that i expect the Singapore government to be all perfect and made excellent decisions all the time, no thats of course impossible. But, if SPH is going to spout this kind of nonsense on the HEADLINES, then i'll bring up what you have chosen to keep quiet about. What about the Temasek buyover of Shincorp? Did you report the paper loss of s$1.83 billion to our economy? No... of course not! :)
How clever. And how utterly insightful our papers are. Clearly this illustrates why we need other sources of news because if we continue to read SPH material, soon we'll be mentally conditioned to think they way they want us to.
To add on to the nonsense already evident on the headlines, MM Lee argued that if we do not accept the raise, an incompetent government will take form and "your apartment will be worth a fraction of what it is, your jobs will be in peril, your security will be at risk and our women will become maids in other people's countries." HAHAHA

Yesterday while i was driving in my car after the carnival with shanna, mavis and farah in tow, i was sieving through my old compilation CDs and i randomly popped one into my player. Then, SUDDENLY A LOVELY OLD BUT MEMORABLE TUNE STARTED PLAYING! And then... me, mavis and shanna started singing,
"GENN WOO YI QI, AI QING MAN YOUUUU
GEI WO NI DE SHOU TILL THE ENDD OF THE WORLDDD!!"
HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHA fuck i couldnt stop laughing!!!! Farah was acting grossed out but i bet she wanted to learn so she could sing along! BUT IT WAS SO REMINISCENT OF MY 5566 DAYS. And the fact that mavis and shanna could sing along made it so much more fucking funnier cos it shows that THEY ALSO LIKED THEM (to a certain extent i know).
For old time's sake,
If you dont think he's MAN, HE IS OKAY
